ELIA MACRì
A graduate in piano, choral conducting and baroque singing from the Giuseppe Tartini Conservatory in Trieste, he furthered his musical education at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest and the International Chamber Music School of the Trieste Trio.
He is an esteemed chamber musician, and his professional commitments and interest in singing have led him to prefer the repertoire of vocal chamber music. He has gained experience in the field of musical theatre as a collaborating maestro at the Fondazione Teatro Lirico Giuseppe Verdi in Trieste and choirmaster of the Piccolo Opera Festival del Friuli Venezia Giulia. As a corripetitor he is regularly invited by the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien to give seminars on the Italian opera repertoire.
In 2009 he founded the Cappella Musicale Beata Vergine del Rosario in his city, where he carries out an intense conducting activity, , ranging from Gregorian chant, Renaissance polyphony and the great repertoires for soloists, choir and orchestra.
Also active in musicology, he has edited some compositions by musicians from Trieste such as Vito Levi (1899-2002) and Raffaello de Banfield (1922-2008) for the Pizzicato publishing house and recorded the same repertoire for the Tactus label with soprano Daniela Mazzucato.
Since the 2020-2021 academic year, he has been teaching piano practice and reading at the Arcangelo Corelli Conservatory in Messina.
