LUCIANO ROMAN

A theatrical actor and director, he graduated from the Accademia De' Filodrammatici in Milan as an actor in 1987, and in 1990 he received the Ystrio Award as a Young Promise.

For over thirty-five years he has dedicated himself to the profession of actor, working at the Piccolo Teatro di Milano, Teatro di Genova, Teatro Stabile del Veneto, Teatro Biondo di Palermo, Metastasio di Prato, and Stabile dell'Umbria, where he has been the protagonist of more than 70 theatre productions often performed all over the world.

Among others, he has been directed by Massimo Castri, Giorgio Strehler, Luca Ronconi, Rimas Tuminas, Antonio Calenda, Luigi Squarzina, Egisto Marcucci, Piero Maccarinelli, Giorgio Pressburger, Pietro Carriglio, Roberto De Simone, and Giorgio Sangati.

Since the 2000s he has also been a director and promoter of cultural events. As a director he has signed: ´L'oro in bocca´ by Bonaviri, ´Anima from the writings´ of Leonardo Da Vinci as author, director and performer; ´Non buttiamoci giù´ by Nick Hornby, ´Casanova Soirèe´ where he is also the author.

He has been artistic director of projects for schools promoted by MIUR in Lazio, Liguria, Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia.

He has been artistic coordinator of theatre reviews and cultural events. He has devised cycles of readings from St. Augustine's Confessions on tour throughout Italy with the philosopher Giovanni Reale and Father Eugenio Cavallari.

He has been teaching acting since 2010: School of the Teatro Biondo in Palermo, Accademia in lingua Veneta, Accademia Palcoscenico del Teatro Stabile del Veneto. He conducts advanced training seminars for actors coming out of academies all over Italy.

Since the beginning of his career, he has flanked his activity in theatre with television, participating in RAI, Mediaset and Swiss Italian television dramas. Since 2020 he has collaborated with the RAI office in Trieste.
